FAQs

What is psychometric testing?

Psychometric testing is all about measuring underlying characteristics of people. It’s useful for revealing reasoning patterns, personality profiles, motivations, and uncovering overall ability. The goal is to get objective data for things that are usually subjective. It’s much more than an IQ test, and assessments from The Devine Group go much further than a simple personality test. By matching assessment results against competency-based job models, you’re able to see a more complete, predictive picture of a how a candidate might perform in a role, how your own employees work together as a team, or how a team member might perform in a different role.

Why do employers use psychometric testing?

Recruiting and managing human capital has changed. The workplace is more complex, the labor market is increasingly fragmented, and the skills necessary to move business forward are specific and difficult to assess. Enter psychometric testing. No matter how large or small your organization is, your employees are the very heart of everything you do. Recruiting great employees is complicated and time-consuming, training and developing your team is expensive, and replacing a good employee can cost up to 25% of their current salary according to some estimates. In this environment, it is imperative to quickly cut through the noise and find candidates who will excel immediately. Our employee assessments tests offer an objective understanding of how a candidate meets specific competencies and behaviors. These competencies and behaviors drive job models that can accurately predict future performance in a role, with the end result being a more productive and happy workforce, and less turnover.
